This year, the Hudson Falls community lost an incredible member, Rick Conley.
During his life, Rick had been involved in many activities to which he devoted his time and efforts. He was dedicated to teaching at Hudson Falls and officiating basketball games. He was a history buff with a particular affinity for Gettysburg. He used his carpentry skills to assist in the rebuilding of the Strand Theater and in his own passion for building dioramas.
He was also devoted to his family and loved his community.
An annual scholarship has been established in Rick Conley's name at Hudson Falls.
Working closely with Rick's family, we have created an ornament that celebrates just one aspect of his life - his love of officiating basketball. In this ornament, the silhouette of Rick watches a play on the court as the basketball hits the rim. A back panel is etched with a short memorial to Rick. The ornament is a 2.75" x 3.5" oval crafted from 3 layers of laser-cut, hand painted wood.
